The Angels Thesis: Beginning Of Act 16
Beginning Of Act 16: Kassie sighed as she walked downstairs. As she headed over to the hidden study, she stopped to steel herself for the tongue lashing she was about to give Daniel. “Can you girls leave us alone for a bit?” She told Ashura and Emmy, who looked at each other before leaving. “You too.” She told Desiree, who looked at her. “He’s my brother.” She said, and Kassie sighed. “Fine.” She said, and walked in, closing the door behind her. “Did you honestly forget you were getting married?” Kassie bluntly said, crossing her arms as she stood there, looking at Daniel. “No. But we never did set a date for this. I mean, with everything that has been going on.” He said, and Kassie looked at Desi, who thought about it for a bit. “He’s right you know.” They heard from behind them. Turning around, Kassie and Desi looked at Ashlie, who stood in the doorway, with Ashura and Emmy behind her. “We tried to stop her.” Ashura said, and Ashlie rested a hand on the little girl’s

Chapter 10: “That’s cool.” Karin said, as she walked over to inspect the jacket Max was wearing. “You think?” He asked, and Karin nodded. He glanced over at Mailee, who was already at another rack, picking out something. He watched as she walked back over, holding onto another Lolita style baby doll dress, this one a baby blue, with white trims around the collar and the short sleeves. It had stuffed pink rabbits, and stuffed blue teddy bears printed all over it, along with some candy hearts. “Go try this one on.” She told Karin, who nodded. “I’m happy she’s enjoying herself.” Mailee said with a smile. “I’m glad she’s not the only one enjoying herself.” Max said, making Mailee turn to him. “That really does look good on you.” She said, as she reached up to fix his collar once more. “You really think so?” Max asked, and looked at himself once again. It kind of reminded him of something out of a Steampunk novel, and he kind of shrugged. He heard Mailee giggle a little. There was

Chapter 9: After returning to her room, Mailee sat on the edge of her bed, starting at herself in her mirror. She thought about what her aunt told her, and wondered if she should actually let Max see what she looks like without the makeup. “Something on your mind?” She heard, and looked towards the hallway, where her Aunt Winter stood, sipping a cup of coffee. “Just thinking about what you said.” Mailee said, and Winter smiled, before sitting down next to her. “And?” She asked, and Mailee shrugged. “I don’t know. I don’t even know if he’ll talk to me after last night.” She said, and Winter sighed. “Only one way to find out.” She said, and glanced at Mailee’s phone. Max was busy soldering some wires, choosing to ignore his phone ringing for the moment. He wanted to make sure that he didn’t mess up the job he was doing, and figured they would have left a message if it was important. After hearing the ringing stop, Max figured it wasn’t as important as he thought it was, until he heard

Chapter 8: A short time later, Max and Mailee stood in front of the movie theater’s concession stand, trying to decide on what kind of snacks to buy. “Well, we did just eat, so maybe just some popcorn?” Max asked, and Mailee nodded. After picking up a tub of popcorn and some drinks, Max followed Mailee into the theater, and looked for the right place to sit. “Somewhere near the middle?” He heard her ask, and Max just agreed. As they sat down, Max glanced behind them, before looking at Mailee. She noticed he was looking at her, and felt a bit of a blush creep up on her face. “Something wrong?” She asked nervously. “Not really. Just wondering if you should take that off. I mean, so it’s not blocking the people behind us.” Max said, and motioned to the large bow in Mailee’s hair. “Oh!” She said, and reached up. “Sorry.” She told the couple behind her, and unclipped the bow from her hair. As she shook her head, letting some of her hair fall into place, she turned towards Max, who

Chapter 7: It was later on in the afternoon, when the three girls met in Mailee’s room, with Mailee telling Ellen and Maya everything that happened. “Damn. Boy’s got some cajones.” Maya said, and laughed a little, as she sat on Mailee’s bed. Ellen, who was sitting backwards in Mailee’s chair just chuckled. Mailee herself though, paced back and forth. “I don’t know what I was thinking.” She said, as she passed by Ellen. “I wasn’t thinking straight.” She said, and Ellen sighed. “You’re going to pace a hole in your floor. Sit.” Ellen said, and Mailee sighed, as she sat down on her bed. “Breathe.” Ellen said, and Maya took a deep breath. “Not you.” She said, and shook her head. “Sorry. Just trying to help.” She said, and Mailee sighed. “Just calm down. Freaking out isn’t going to help anyone.” Ellen said, pressing Mailee’s cheeks together. She was about to say something else, when her phone rang. “Hello? Oh it’s you.” She said, standing up. She glanced down at Mailee, and smirked. “You

Chapter 6: It was the weekend, and Mailee did what she usually did. She walked into the mall in her outfit of the day. A lavender colored baby doll style dress with black sleeves, and black trim, fishnet stockings with a pair of shorts, finished by black boots, and a small, clip that resembled a little hat for her hair. She once again got stares from people, but it didn’t bother her any. She continued to walk along, holding her purse in front of her, and was a bit surprised when someone stopped her to ask if they could take a picture with her. She didn’t feel that she was anything special, but took the picture anyway. It was then that she noticed Justin out of the corner of her eye. Excusing herself, Mailee continued on, trying to move away from the direction Justin was heading. She had a feeling he was coming over to where she was, and quickly made her way around the corner. She just didn’t want to deal with him. Not today. It was then that she saw the familiar storefront that

Chapter 5: Ellen, who read through a magazine while waiting for Maya and Mailee, decided to keep some comments to herself about certain articles. “If they are, then I’m the Queen of the Nile.” She said instead of what she was thinking. Glancing towards the door, Ellen noticed Maya and Mailee walk in, a small, content smile on Mailee’s face. She held her hands clasped in front of her, and Ellen laughed softly. “So. When’s the wedding?” She asked, and Mailee stared at her. She never replied, and instead took Ellen’s magazine from her. “Rude. I was reading that.” She complained. “You actually read this crap?” Mailee asked, and Ellen shrugged. As she read through the page, Mailee shook her head, and tossed the magazine back onto the table. “If that’s true. I’m the Queen Of The Nile.” She said, and Ellen laughed. “Right?” She simply said. “So. How did it go by the way?” Ellen asked. “Fine.” Mailee simply said. “Max as a pair of adorable little sisters. One of them loved Mai’s shoes.”

Chapter 4: As she rolled over onto her side, Mailee opened her eyes. It was morning already, and she groaned a little, before pulling the covers up over her head. Pulling them back down, she stared across from her bed, at the chair in front of her desk, and at the jacket that sat on it. Max’s jacket. She felt her cheeks flush, and pulled the covers back over herself, before looking at the jacket once more. She had a little flashback to last night. It was right around the moment that they were leaving the Starlight Room. She remembered the night air touching her skin, and the sudden shiver that ran down her spine. It was then that Max took off his jacket, and put it around her shoulders. Sliding out of bed, Mailee walked over to the chair, and sat in it. She brought up her knees to her chest, and brought the jacket close to her. She could smell a little bit of the faint cologne from the jacket, and suddenly stopped herself. What was she doing? Why was she acting that way? Shaking her

Chapter 3: Max was confused. He didn’t know what was going on, and stared at the ticket in his hand. “Who was that?” He heard Steph ask. “She was the girl that came up to me at the food court yesterday.” He said, and Steph looked at him strangely. “You’re not thinking of actually going are you?” She asked. Max had to admit, he was strangely curious. “You know. It would be rude to not go. I mean, she came all this way to give you a invitation.” Brad piped in from the back of the store. “But you saw how she was dressed!” Max heard Steph say, and suddenly lost himself in thought. “Tell me why we’re here again?” Steph asked, as she stood behind Max in line to get into the Starlight Room. “I don’t know why you’re here. I know I was invited.” Max told her, and Steph scoffed. “Excuse me for thinking of your well being.” She said, and behind her, Brad laughed. “And what’s your excuse?” Steph asked, but Brad just shrugged. “Just here to make sure you don’t get in trouble.” He said, and

Chapter 2: As she walked across the concrete floor that the mall held, Mailee’s shoes almost seemed to “click” with each footfall. Her parasol sat on her shoulder, this one a more pastel color scheme to match the outfit she wore. The Lolita style dress, adorned with pastel colors, the pure while stockings, the babydoll platform heels, topped with the frilly hairband that sat in her hair. As she slowly walked along through the mall, she could hear whispers from people. They talked about how she was dressed, the makeup she had on, so on and so forth. Not all of it was bad. There were a few people that told her how cute she was, or ones that told her that they liked her parasol, or even her shoes, but even as polite as she acted, deep down, it just didn’t matter to her. The compliments, the criticism, all of it was the same in her book. It just didn’t matter, if it didn’t come from the right person. And even at that, it just didn’t matter. At least not to her. She continued to walk
